It's a great pleasure to talk about my dear former student, friend and esteemed colleague, Alex de Sousa Rodrigues.
I particularly admire his various creative projects that combine an authentic sense of Latin American folklore with the varied and expressive subtleties of the great classical guitar tradition.
Alex always plays with heart and passion. His exquisite rhythm and sincere expressiveness are ever-present elements in his music and make him a personal and important voice in the trajectory of important guitarists of his generation.
